Computer Support Specialist
Computer support specialists assist individuals with computer questions and problems. After someone encounters a problem, support specialists diagnose it and propose solutions to repair it. Support specialists frequently respond to concerns on the telephone or via e-mail. Some meet with customers to answer questions. When responding to concerns on a telephone, support specialists usually lead callers through a step by step process to solve the problems themselves. Specialists also setup new software programs, printers, and other hardware. After installation, they usually show users how to utilize the newly installed equipment. Some computer support specialists prepare instruction manuals.
