Find a Good Place to Study

The first step in preparing yourself to study is finding a good place to study. If you don’t have the right place study you’re studying just won’t be as effective as it could be.
  • A good study place should be always easily accessible and available. If you’re study place is frequently occupied by others then find different study place.

  • A good study place should protect you from frequent interruptions. Effective study time requires that you are uninterrupted.

  • A good study place should be free from distractions. If you are distracted by noises or things moving around you can’t study effectively.

  • A good study place should have a good desk to study at. A good desk should be large enough to hold all your study materials including books, papers, pens and pencils and possible a computer.

  • A good study place should have all the supplies you need to study including pens and pencils, paper, calculator or anything else the subject requires. If you are constantly getting up to search for supplies it will decrease the effectiveness of your study.

  • A good study place should include a comfortable chair. Any type of discomfort can decrease the effectiveness of your study. Find a chair that you can sit in comfortably for long periods of time.

  • A good study place should have a comfortable temperature. If your study place is too hot or too cold it can make it difficult to study. Find a study place where you can select just the right temperature.

  • A good study place should have adequate lighting. Adequate light is simply enough light to help you clearly see without straining your eyes. Poor lighting can cause discomfort and headaches that lead to ineffective studying.

Finding the right place to study is the first step to good studying.
