Physicist

Physicists specialize in the natural world, from the most minuscule atom to the physical wonders of the vast universe. They conduct experiments to discover the physical laws of the universe. They study what objects are composed of and how they react in different scenarios. They also specialize in energy creation and determine why objects change phases under different circumstances.

What is the future outlook for this career?

Job growth for physicists is projected to increase nearly as quickly as average growth in other industries until 2016. However, competition for available jobs will be intense. Decreased research funding will result in fewer basic research positions, but demand for physicists to work in computer technology and applied science industries will exist.
